X Direct3D File
X (DirectX) file is the original interchange file format for DirectX technology developed by Microsoft back in 1995 with the Windows 95 release. The X file format is capable of storing mesh geometry together with the material information including the texture images. You can convert X files into your native 3D modeling environment with Autoconverter and Automesher Application software. The reverse conversion from your native file into X file format is also possible and supported by our dedicated X file converters.
X3D File
X3D (Extensible 3D) is an open source and royalty free XML based file format developed and maintained by the Web3D Consortium to store two or three dimensional models together with the other visualization data e.g. light source, viewport info, camera properties, special effects and more. The X3D file format becomes an advanced extension and actually the replacement for the original VRML (Virtual Reality Modeling Language) file format used mostly by the WEB applications. The Autoconverter and Automesher Application are our X3D file converters which allow you to import and export mesh entities from the X3D file. To optimize file size the binary X3DB file can be used instead of a default text based X3D file. The shapes in X3D files are always defined in meters therefore our X3D converters will make the necessary units conversion if required.
