Convert AMF to X: The Must-Know Facts

AMF to X: Resources

Refer to the following resources for additional support on the interoperability and exchange of AMF and X file formats. They will assist you in transitioning from AMF to X files.

AMF File AMF

The AMF (Additive Manufacturing) file format has emerged as a new standard in the 3D printing and additive manufacturing industry. It is designed to facilitate the transfer of a 3D design for the fabrication process on a 3D printer machine. Unlike the STL file format, which is common in the 3D printing industry, AMF offers native support for color, materials, texture images, and reusable geometry component instances. An added advantage of the AMF file format is that its content can be compressed using the ZIP compression algorithm, resulting in a significant reduction in file size. Our Autoconverter software and Automesher Application offer full support for the import and conversion of AMF files.

Direct3D X File X

The X (DirectX) file format is the original interchange format for DirectX technology, developed by Microsoft in 1995 alongside the release of Windows 95. The X file format can store mesh geometry along with material information, including texture images. With our Autoconverter and Automesher Application software products, you can effortlessly convert X files into your native 3D modeling environment. Additionally, our X file converters support reverse conversion, enabling you to convert your native files into the X file format.
