AMF File
AMF (Additive Manufacturing) file format is a new standard for the 3D printing additive manufacturing technology to represent a 3D design for the fabrication process on a 3D printer machine. In comparison to the STL file format common in the 3D printing industry, the AMF file format can offer a native support for the color, materials, texture images and reusable geometry component instances. Moreover the AMF file content can be compressed with the ZIP compression algorithm reducing the AMF file size significantly. The import and conversion of the AMF files is fully supported by our Autoconverter and Automesher Application file conversion utilities.
X3D File
X3D (Extensible 3D) is an open source and royalty free XML based file format developed and maintained by the Web3D Consortium to store two or three dimensional models together with the other visualization data e.g. light source, viewport info, camera properties, special effects and more. The X3D file format becomes an advanced extension and actually the replacement for the original VRML (Virtual Reality Modeling Language) file format used mostly by the WEB applications. The Autoconverter and Automesher Application are our X3D file converters which allow you to import and export mesh entities from the X3D file. To optimize file size the binary X3DB file can be used instead of a default text based X3D file. The shapes in X3D files are always defined in meters therefore our X3D converters will make the necessary units conversion if required.
