DXF to IGES
Listed below are additional resources pertaining to the interoperability and exchange of DXF and IGES file sources. These will be valuable in guiding you through the DXF to IGES file conversion.
- Export IGES from Sketchup Drawing
- Import and Export STL, OBJ, 3DS, PLY, 3DM, SKP, IGES, and STEP Files
- Automesher Desktop Application for Windows to Convert 3D File Formats
- Import STEP, STL, OBJ, 3DM, SKP, and Other 3D Files in AutoCAD
- Export OBJ, STL, 3DM, SKP, PLY, and Other 3D Files in AutoCAD
- Change 3D Model Units in STEP / IGES Files
DXF Drawing
DXF (Drawing Exchange Format) is an ASCII file format developed and maintained by Autodesk. It serves as a conduit for exchanging DWG drawing data between AutoCAD and other programs. This is particularly beneficial as the native DWG file format is proprietary and requires a license to use. With our software, Autoconverter and Automesher Application, you can convert 3D meshes into a set of DXF faces organized in colored layers. This enables further processing and modifications using your default DWG editor.
IGES File
The IGES (Initial Graphics Exchange Specification) file format serves as the foundational format for data exchange between various systems, including CAD, CAM, and CAE. Since IGES geometry data is stored in a text format, exporting triangular meshes with thousands or millions of faces using our Autoconverter software may result in larger file sizes. It’s important to note that while the IGES format supports color per assembly, it does not include an alpha component. Consequently, any transparency settings will be lost when saving your stunning 3D design in the IGES format.
