X3D to FBX: Resources
Below, you'll discover a compendium of resources dedicated to the interoperability and exchange of X3D and FBX file sources. These will aid in the smooth conversion from X3D to FBX files.
- Automesher Desktop Application for Windows to Convert 3D File Formats
- Convert Filmbox FBX File to a Different File Version
- Convert Smooth Edges in SketchUp SKP Files
- Autoconverter for Batch Conversion of 3D Files
- Convert 3D Mesh Files in the Batch Mode
- Save Micro 3D Models to SketchUp SKP Files
X3D File
The X3D (Extensible 3D) file format is an open-source and royalty-free XML based format, developed and maintained by the Web3D Consortium. It’s designed to store two or three-dimensional models along with various visualization data, including light sources, viewport information, camera properties, special effects, and more. X3D serves as an advanced extension and a replacement for the original VRML file format, which was primarily used in web applications. Both of our X3D file converters, Autoconverter and Automesher Application, allow for the import and export of mesh entities from X3D files. For optimized file sizes, you have the option to use the binary X3DB file format instead of the default text-based X3D file.
Filmbox FBX File
FBX (Filmbox) is a proprietary file format initially developed by Kaydara and now owned by Autodesk, a leading company in 3D software products. The FBX file format can store transparent colors, texture images, reusable geometry components, assembly structures, and even model animation data. However, our FBX conversion software, Autoconverter and Autoshaper, currently do not support animation frames. To read and write Filmbox FBX files in the most efficient way, we utilize the official FBX SDK provided by Autodesk.
