BLEND to IGES: Resources
Enclosed is a comprehensive list of resources related to the interoperability and exchange between BLEND and IGES files. These resources will prove invaluable in facilitating the conversion from BLEND to IGES files.
- Change 3D Model Units in STEP / IGES Files
- Export IGES from Sketchup Drawing
- Automesher Desktop Application for Windows to Convert 3D File Formats
- Convert 3D Mesh Files in the Batch Mode
BLEND File
BLEND (Blender), the native file format for the open-source Blender software, is designed to store and transfer sophisticated 3D content. A BLEND file can store 3D triangular mesh data, light sources, object animation keyframes, texture UV mapping, and other essential data needed to create impressive 3D visualizations and animations. Our Autoconverter and Automesher Application converters allow you to seamlessly import and convert BLEND files into your preferred modeling environment. This capability enables you to work with BLEND files outside of the native Blender environment. However, please be aware that we currently do not support exporting 3D models to the BLEND file format for further processing in Blender.
IGES File
The IGES (Initial Graphics Exchange Specification) file format serves as the foundational format for data exchange between various systems, including CAD, CAM, and CAE. Since IGES geometry data is stored in a text format, exporting triangular meshes with thousands or millions of faces using our Autoconverter software may result in larger file sizes. It’s important to note that while the IGES format supports color per assembly, it does not include an alpha component. Consequently, any transparency settings will be lost when saving your stunning 3D design in the IGES format.
