DXF to 3DS
Please find below the list of our other useful resources related to DXF and 3DS interoperability and exchange that could help you with the DXF to 3DS conversion.
- Import and export STL, OBJ, 3DS, PLY, 3DM, SKP, IGES and STEP files
- Automesher Application
- Convert 3D mesh files in the batch mode
DXF AutoCAD File
DXF (Drawing Exchange Format) is an ASCII file format developed and maintained up until now by the Autodesk company to exchange DWG drawing data between AutoCAD and the other programs as the native DWG file format is proprietary and requires a license to use. Our Autoconverter and Automesher Application software allow you to convert 3D meshes to a set of DXF faces placed in the colored layers which you can process further with your DWG editor.
3DS File
3DS (3D Studio) file extension is a famous file format for storing polygonal mesh models with the additional support for the model names, materials with transparent colors and texture images. For the legacy reasons the maximum length of 3DS model name is 8 characters, and the maximum number of triangles in a single 3DS mesh object is 32.767, therefore during 3DS export process any bigger mesh will be divided into smaller shells. Using our Autoconverter or Autoshaper 3DS file converters you can convert any 3D model into 3DS file format and import it into a common DIALux lighting project.
