KML Google Earth
KML (Keyhole Markup Language) file format for Google Earth and Google Earth Pro allows you to store geographical data including point, line string and polygon geometry in XML textual format. Our Automapki Application for AutoCAD, BricsCAD and ZWCAD allows you to import KML maps into DWG model space and recreate every point, line string, polygon and Collada DAE model geometry saved in the KML file. The longitude and latitude KML coordinates are automatically converted to your geospatial coordinate reference system defined in the DWG drawing. The Automapki Application can also export your point, polygon, curve and image DWG drawing entities to KML file format which can be processed further in Google Earth.
IGES File
IGES (Initial Graphics Exchange Specification) is the initial file format for the data exchange between different systems e.g. CAD, CAM or CAE. As the geometry data are stored in a text file format, you will get bigger file sizes when exporting triangular meshes with thousands of faces using Autoconverter software. The IGES file format supports color per assembly, but without the alpha component, therefore any transparency setting will be lost in the IGES file.
