SKP to KML
Please find below the list of our other useful resources related to SKP and KML interoperability and exchange that could help you with the SKP to KML conversion.
SKP SketchUp File
SKP (SketchUp) file format for a long period of time was maintained by Google, but currently it is actively developed by Trimble company. The SKP file allows to store named mesh groups with assigned transparent color or a surface material with a texture image. Please note however that Win32 build is not supported anymore from the SKP file version 16, therefore using Win64 build is recommended to work with the most recent SketchUp models. Using our Autoconverter software you can save SKP files to any file version you require, from the early SKP version 3 to the recent 2022.
KML Google Earth
KML (Keyhole Markup Language) file format for Google Earth and Google Earth Pro allows you to store geographical data including point, line string and polygon geometry in XML textual format. Our Automapki Application for AutoCAD, BricsCAD and ZWCAD allows you to import KML maps into DWG model space and recreate every point, line string, polygon and Collada DAE model geometry saved in the KML file. The longitude and latitude KML coordinates are automatically converted to your geospatial coordinate reference system defined in the DWG drawing. The Automapki Application can also export your point, polygon, curve and image DWG drawing entities to KML file format which can be processed further in Google Earth.
